Molar Gas Constant

The molar gas constant is defined as the product of the Avogadro Constant $N_A$ and the Boltzmann Constant $k_B$:

$$R\stackrel{\text{def}}{=}{k}_B\cdot N_A=8.31446261815324\mathrm{J}\cdot {\mathrm{K}}^{-1}\cdot {\mathrm{mol}}^{-1}$$

NOTE

Other names for $R$ are the ideal gas constant, universal gas constant or just gas constant.
