A real vector field is a real vector function of the form $f:\mathcal{D}\subseteq {\mathbb{R}}^n\to {\mathbb{R}}^n$.

NOTATION

Vector fields are sometimes denoted with bold symbols - $\mathbf{u},\mathbf{v},\mathbf{F},\mathbf{E}$, etc.
